Shakeel Ahmed
Chairman of Voipex.
Shakeel brings to Voipex more than 25 years of experience in the IT and Telecoms industry both in Europe and the US. Specifically, Shakeel is bringing his direct experience in starting new businesses and in raising funds for technology start-ups.
In the late 80s Shakeel launched his first start up company, TSI Resourcing, with in excess of US$5m fund raised. Since then, Shakeel was also one of the principal founders of Aduronet, an IP/VPN technology start up with funding in excess of US$50m. In addition, he has been involved in the launch of several successful businesses including PharmiWeb, New Oceans, Trinity Bellman Scott and Miniweb among others.Shakeel is also Chairman of etask-it and Chairman of the Advisory board of Miniweb interactive for whom he raised access to $32M of funds in July 08.
Shakeel is primarily focused in assisting technology start-ups in the process of raising first and second round funds through his company GPV Investment ( www.gpv-i.com) During the last 10 years, Shakeel has raised more than US$150m of funding.

Jonathan Nelson
Chief Executive Office and founder of Voipex.
He has over 20 years of Sales and General Management experience in Telecommunications and Information Technology.
He has worked extensively in Financial, Oil and Gas and Government verticals. Jonathan held senior sales roles at Mitel Telecom and British Telecom, before moving into the channel. Since then he has held senior advisory and executive roles in several companies including Decorum Networks, Call UK, Virtual Network Services and Powernet.

Adam Hill
Chief Technical Officer and co founder of Voipex
Adam graduated from Aston University in 1991 with First Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He has over 15 years experience in Telecommunications and software development having worked for GEC Telecommunications and others. Latterly he has been Technical Director for Powernet.
His focus for the last 10 years has been on creating solutions for the problems ISPs and customers have in IP wide area networking.

Paul David
Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing
During Paul's career, comprises experience in 3 continents. He has an outstanding record of sales and marketing achievements in international telecommunications, with extensive experience of IP/IT Services.
Paul started his career in the1980s in Cable & Wireless, later worked in Mercury when it was a start-up. Paul then helped Hong Kong Telecom get ready for competition as General Manager for Corporate markets.
In1997 Paul was promoted to Vice President Internet and Intranet Solutions in a C&W/Schlumberger start-up 36 months later, the company turned over some $200M and made a profit.Paul was then recruited by COLT in August 2000 as Director Data centre Solutions.
Afterwards being promoted by Steve Akin CEO, to join COLTs Executive Management Team in July 2002 as Group Director, Products and Marketing.
Paul left COLT in 2006 to become Managing Director of Saiph Communications, a start up in VOIP services, having got the company started and growing, Paul has been working on various VOIP assignments in the consulting sector before joining Voipex.

Dave Baker
Senior Vice President Business Development
Dave has a degree in Computer Engineering and over 25 years experience in the computer and telecoms industry with companies such as British Telecom, CAP Gemini and f5 Networks. For 12 years Dave ran his own company specialising in network consultancy and network attached storage systems, which was successfully sold to a publicly listed company in 1999. Dave subsequently started and developed the UK sales operation for f5 Networks Inc which he built to a UK turnover of over $12million. After leaving f5, Dave trained as a business coach and has spent the last 3 years coaching and advising a wide variety of small businesses.

Keith Balding
Senior Vice President Technical Operations
Keith has over 25 years experience in the computer, electronics and telecoms industries. For 12 years Keith was a partner and Technical Director of Mosaic Systems, a company specialising in design consultancy and network attached storage systems. He subsequently worked as Technical Director of the Storage Division of Primary Storage plc until being appointed IT Director of the Telecoms Division of that company. Here he was responsible for managing IT and Internet infrastructure and a software team that successfully developed a combined web-based billing, CRM, online signup and provisioning solution for the companys Telecoms and VISP services.
Before leaving to join Voipex Keith spent the last two years as a partner and Technical Director of Alliance Communications, a company supplying telecoms and network services for business and specialising in the provision of hosted VoIP services.

Dr Herbert Perer
Vice President International Business
Herbert has 23 years of International Business Development experience, 18 in the computer industry. He started his career in Saudi Arabia, where he spent 5 years representing the commercial interests of his native country Austria for the Federal Economic Chamber of Commerce.
Moving to the USA in 1989 Herbert initiated and managed the International Business of Procom Technology, Inc. a US based Storage Company and grew it to $40 million in annual revenues. In 2005 Sun Microsystems acquired Procoms network attached storage software for $50 million and Herbert left Procom. He became Director of International Sales at FarStone Technology, a developer of data protection and disaster recovery Software before joining Voipex. Herbert holds a Doctorate in Social and Economic Sciences from the University of Economics and Business Administration, Vienna, Austria.

Dino Joannides
Non Executive
Dino has over 17 years international Sales, Marketing and General Management experience with pre-IPO and larger Public Companies.
He is SVP of Sales and Business Development EMEA and a member of the advisory board of Lingospot Inc
He was also a co-founder and CEO of Upstream Systems, a pioneer in Mobile Media and Marketing. Dino undertook Business Development at Picsel Technologies, responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy and execution for a new mobile content solutions portfolio. He has also held a number of non-executive director, consulting and full-time sales roles with companies including Wecomm- Global VP Sales ,Activemedia Technologies- Advisor, Bristol York - Director, Mitel Corporation - Head of Sales and Marketing EMEAAP, MCI and Signalsoft Corporation- VP Sales and Marketing. He has a BA (Hons) in Political Science from Hull University, UK and recepient of a 3 year Postgraduate Research Scholarship from the ESRC based at IEP , Paris.

Simon Burckhardt
Non Executive
Simon has had some 20 years plus experience in Marketing, Sales and Customer care in the Telco sector. Up until April 2008 he was Chief Marketing Officer for Telefonica O2 Czech Republic. Telefonica O2 Czech is the number 1 fixed and mobile operator in Czech with a turnover of c2bn Euros. Simon started to work in Prague from Jan 2005 firstly as CMO for the fixed incumbent operator Czech Telecom, before it was purchased by Telefonica.
Prior to his experience in the Czech Republic Simon was a founding Director of the Telco consultancy, Route 30, working for operators such as Mobinil in Eygpt, SFR in France, Eurotel in Czech Republic, COLT Telecom in UK, TP in Poland, Bulldog (C&W) in UK, OTE in Greece, STC in Saudi, sunrise in Switzerland, Terradata and Gemplus.
He spent 2 years in the IT sector working for the Analytical CRM vendor Clarity Blue as Marketing Director. Clarity Blue worked with most of the UK Telco operators and ISPs including Orange, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile and Wanadoo.Simon's Telco career started in BT where he spent 8 years in various senior UK and International Marketing and Strategy roles.
